From May 19 (Tue) to May 21 (Thu), 2026, the Sendai Convention Bureau exhibited at IMEX Frankfurt 2026, one of Europe’s largest MICE trade shows, held in Frankfurt, Germany. As part of the Japan Booth organized by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), we jointly exhibited alongside 20 organizations from across Japan. One member of our sales team represented the bureau and conducted business meetings throughout the three-day event.
During the trade show, approximately 60 business meetings were conducted with buyers involved in conventions, meetings, and incentive travel programs. Sendai was actively promoted as a global MICE destination while directly generating leads and gathering valuable market intelligence. Participation in IMEX Frankfurt provided a meaningful opportunity to further enhance Sendai’s presence in the international MICE market and support future business development and bidding activities.
In addition, prior to the trade show, our bureau staff participated in an ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) session and networking event. Following the event, our bureau staff conducted sales visits with local tourism and incentive travel stakeholders.
