Attendee Comments Vol. 7

新着情報 June 25th, 2019

6th International Conference on Computational and Mathematical Biomedical Engineering(CMBE2019 was held at the Sakura Hall of Tohoku University from 10th to 12th June.

During the event, we caught up with Professor Perumal Nithiarasu of Swansea Univerity, UK and asked him for his impression on his first visit to Sendai.

After having held in UK and America, CMBE has come to Japan for the first time for its 6th Conference.

“I have been running this conference since 2009 and there were some concerns for this conference in the beginning.”, continues the conference chair. “Firstly, the ‘bento box’ style. Yet, it turns out that we can serve many delegates in short period of time and I’ve learnt to know that it’s a good idea. Second was the dinner – we usually have a formal sitting style dinner, so I was a bit nervous when I heard that we were having a buffet dinner, but the party at the Sendai Umino-mori Aquarium was fun and absolutely amazing. Usually after the party, a lot of our delegates continue the celebration until 2 to 3 at night, so longer opening hours of the venue or bars will be much appreciated. In fact, some of the delegates went out for drinks after being dropped off at Sendai Station from the Aquarium.”

We would like to thank Professor Perumal Nithiarasu for his time and we look forward to his future visits to Sendai!
