As part of the Japan Tourism Agency’s initiative, “Promotion of Regional and University Collaboration for Developing Future International Conference Organizers,” a networking event was held for researchers of universities within Miyagi Prefecture—including Tohoku University—who have the potential to host international conferences. The event took place at two unique venues in the Aobayama area: Sendai Ryokusaikan Visitor Center and, after closing hours, the Sendai City Museum, attracting approximately 100 participants.

Information session on international conference attraction and support programs, local supplier exhibition, and one-on-one consultation sessions
Part 2 – Sendai City Museum (5:15 PM – 7:30 PM)
Reception utilizing the museum as a unique venue
Participants shared positive feedback such as:
“It was helpful to learn about specific support programs and hear about previous MICE events held in Sendai,” and
“I now have a clearer image of how to organize an academic conference, thanks to learning about the related support companies involved.”
