Exhibited at MICE EXPO in KANSAI 2022

新着情報 December 27th, 2022

Sendai Convention Bureau exhibited at MICE EXPO in KANSAI 2022 (2 days, 2,775 attendees) held on December 7 (Wed) – 8 (Thu), 2022.

This event was held for the first time at INTEX Osaka with the aim of restarting and revitalizing the MICE industry, as well as creating business innovation and fostering human resources for the future in anticipation of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025 and beyond. The Japan Congress Convention Bureau (JCCB) and the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA) provided special cooperation.

The Aobayama Consortium, which operates the Sendai International Center, the City of Sendai, and the Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association (Sendai Convention Bureau) jointly participated in the exhibition. Along with responding to various questions and distributing pamphlets, PR goods were given to interested and influential visitors. Exhibition facilities, convention bureaus, hotels, and DX/ICT-related companies from across Japan exhibited at the venue. An outline of the event is as follows:

・No. of exhibitors: 106 companies and organizations

・No. of booths: 140

・No. of invited participants: 44 (2 from overseas)

A “Special SDGs Corner” was set up in the exhibition hall to introduce exhibitors’ SDG-related initiatives with panels and videos, including carbon offsets, recycled products, and waste reduction initiatives. Although Sendai did not participate in the SDGs Corner this time, we reaffirm our commitment to the importance of the SDGs and will actively engage in SDG initiatives.

While the number of business meetings at the Sendai booth was small, it was the first face-to-face exhibition in a while, and we were able to connect and exchange information with other regional convention bureaus and MICE organizations such as the Japan Congress and Convention Bureau Association (JCCB) and the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA). Several members of the Sendai PR booth participated in a JCMA café exchange event and a reception for exhibitors (sellers) held at the Hyatt Regency. Other participants and organizers were grateful for Tohoku’s participation in the western Japan event and offered words of support.

The Sendai Convention Bureau will continue to actively engage in promotional activities to convey Sendai’s attractiveness to more buyers and to attract more MICE events.
