Foundation Date

Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association(SenTIA), is a Public Utility Foundation founded in April 2015 due to the merging of the Sendai Tourism Convention Bureau and the Sendai International Relations Association.

Why Consolidate?

At SenTIA, we want to support the dynamic City of Sendai and our exciting Miyagi prefecture with goals that enhance our special cultural, social and economic characteristics. These goals that better both Miyagi and Sendai include inviting domestic and foreign visitors, and hosting conventions, different international and domestic meetings, conferences and special exhibitions. Additionally, our goals are also to help increase the expansion of market goods, strive to promote and plan international exchange efforts, increase visits to and from Sendai and Miyagi, stimulate the local economy, and contribute to multiculturalism.

Sendai Tourist Information Center

Sendai Tourist Information Center is located on the 2nd floor of JR Sendai Station. In addition to providing tourist information, we offer a variety of guidance on a wide area and have tourist brochures on central Sendai, Miyagi, and the Tohoku region. Note that we cannot make reservations for things like transportation, accommodation, or restaurants.

Sendai Tourist Information Desk

The Sendai Tourist Information Desk, a multilingual tourist information center, provides visitors—including international travelers—with tourism information about Sendai and the Tohoku region, as well as various hands-on cultural experience programs in Sendai. It also features a centralized tax-free counter for processing tax refunds at participating stores. In addition, visitors can enjoy Sendai-themed stamps and borrow photo props.
