Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association, (SenTIA) is a Public Utility Foundation founded in April 2015 due to the merging of the Sendai Tourism Convention Bureau and the Sendai International Relations Association.
At SenTIA, we want to support the dynamic City of Sendai and our exciting Miyagi prefecture with goals that enhance our special cultural, social and economic characteristics. These goals that better both Miyagi and Sendai include inviting domestic and foreign visitors, and hosting conventions, different international and domestic meetings, conferences and special exhibitions. Additionally, our goals are also to help increase the expansion of market goods, strive to promote and plan international exchange efforts, increase visits to and from Sendai and Miyagi, stimulate the local economy, and contribute to multiculturalism.
Sendai Tourist Information Center is located on the 2nd floor of the JR Sendai station within View Plaza. In addition to giving tourist information, we offer a variety of guidance on a wide area and have tourist brochures on central Sendai, Miyagi, and the Tohoku region. We also have a system that can browse the city’s accommodation vacancies, however we do not make reservations.
We mainly provide sightseeing information about Sendai and other Tohoku regions as well as information regarding events to experience Sendai food and culture to visitors from overseas.
The Koryu Corner in Sendai International Center is open to everyone and is for the purpose of facilitating international exchange and mutual understanding.
At the counter, we offer information on daily life, Japanese language courses, events, travel and so on.
We introduce both Japanese and foreign cultures and plan fun events where participants can experience cultural exchange.
